Fees
For instructions where prior authority has been granted by the Legal Aid Agency (LAA), the hourly rate is:
£93 per hour (or pro rata) for family court cases.
£107 per hour (or pro rata) for criminal court cases.
For other cases, fees are £125 per hour (or pro rata).
Travelling time is calculated at £40 per hour (or pro rata), at 45p per mile.
Payment Terms
Payment is required within 30 days from receipt of the invoice, unless otherwise agreed in advance.
Late payments may incur interest in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1988.
Full payment for privately funded cases is required upon instruction, before commencement of the work. Where a third party is instructing on behalf of a privately paying client, that instructing party will be responsible for the payment of all fees.
General Cancellation Policy
Appointments cancelled with less than 72 hours’ notice will be billed for the time lost in preparation at the standard hourly rate.
Court Attendance Cancellation Policy
If notice to cancel court attendance is given more than 72 hours before the trial or hearing starts, only preparation work completed up to that point will be charged at the hourly rate.
If notice to cancel court attendance is given less than 72 hours before the trial or hearing starts, fees will include allocated time, travel time, and expenses incurred, in addition to any preparation work, at the rates noted above.
